Golden Gate in Vladimir are a unique historical and architectural monument of Ancient Russia. The white stone tower with a gate was built to defend the city in the middle of the XII century during the time of prosperity of the Vladimir Principality when Prince Andrei Bogolyubsky, called the tower of the Golden Gate. The building was decorated main entrance to the Prince-seigniorial mansions of the city and served as a triumphant symbol of Vladimir.
